IDF Spokesperson:

A short while ago, several Israeli civilians crossed the border from Israeli territory into the Gaza Strip.
The civilians were under constant observation by IDF surveillance. IDF forces in the area rushed to the scene and returned them to Israeli territory.

Later, dozens of Israeli civilians attempted to cross the security fence at another point. Several civilians breached the barrier and entered the buffer zone separating Israeli territory and the Gaza Strip. IDF and police forces rushed to the scene and prevented them from crossing into the Gaza Strip.

The IDF emphasizes that any entry into a combat zone is prohibited, endangers civilians, and interferes with the activity of IDF forces in the area.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Yariv Levin to the High Court of Justice: Contrary to the court’s ruling, senior officials in the State Attorney’s Office have not withdrawn from involvement in the case. It is essential to allow Judge Kula to accompany the investigation immediately.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Yariv Levin has now appealed to the High Court of Justice, following the State Attorney’s Office’s response to his request for clarifications that would enable the appointment of Judge Kula. The response from the State Attorney’s Office proves that it is ignoring the court’s decision, remains in direct contact with the investigative authorities, and receives updates from the police on the matter, in complete contradiction to the ruling.

Attorneys Boaz Ben Tzur, Carmel Ben Tzur, Liatom Peretz, and Liri Keren, who represent the Hapoel Tel Aviv fans, said in response:
“Today’s Supreme Court decision is a victory for freedom of expression and for the right to protest and voice criticism—fundamental rights in any liberal society. The police have an important role in combating crime, but they are not a thought police. That boundary was clearly defined today by the Supreme Court, and rightly so.”

Does the probation service show bias in favor of a Brothers in Arms activist who burned trash bins in Rehavia?

Supreme Court Justice Alex Stein sharply criticizes the service and even hints at the need for an investigation, in light of the service’s attempt to assist Mark Feigel—one of the gang who set fire to trash bins near the Prime Minister’s residence—to travel abroad despite the restrictions imposed on him.

Stein writes that he did not request such an opinion, yet, despite the heavy workload, the probation service volunteered to write a favorable assessment of Feigel.
